CLEP - College-Level Exam Program

The million dollar question is if colleges are allowed to award MORE than the ACE evaluation. I don't know the answer to that.

They already have. My wife's old CC gives 10/16 credits(SH) for the CLEP language exams.

*In case you were wondering its Northern Virginia CC
CLEPS Passed: 10 DSST Passed: 11 TECEPS: 1

PrLoko-isms
Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.

Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.

Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.

Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.

Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

Woo, what a major bummer! It's like 3 steps forward, two steps back. "Surprise! You have less credits than you thought you did!" :/

I am pretty sure the answer is yes. on multiple occasions I have received Upper level credit when it recommended lower level. also from the ace site.

"Each educational institution makes its own decisions about accepting transfer credit.
How do colleges and universities use ACE credit recommendations?
Transfer decisions are most often made by academic deans, department chairs, or chief academic officers (sometimes called provosts). The award of credit is administered by the appropriate office (i.e., admissions, registrar, transfer center, etc.).
"

"When the college or university determines whether and how much credit to apply to your individual record, that credit will then appear on your transcript. Typically, grades are not included with the transfer process, so they are not factored in as part of the grade point average (GPA)."

That's just great, I'm taking the A&I lit test in an hour and this was the last thing I wanted to read.... Not helping my anxiety over this test. I called TESC and they said they accept credit as it shows on your ACE transcript.

so its up to the school, TESC to be more exact, can still award the 6 credits instead of the 3 that ACE has downgraded them too? the ones I need to get done are Humanities, Analyzing and Interpreting Literature, English Literature.

For sure if you took it before 3/1/2015 TESC will award 6. The question is if they'll continue to award 6 when the new recommendation is for 3 (assuming you've taken the exam after 3/1/2015). I don't know, we are kinda waiting for someone to post their credit evaluation; but I suspect not.

That's a bummer. Guess that just means more testing, I'll try and play guinea Pig and take my Humanities CLEP by the middle of the month and let everyone know from the TESC prospective on what they award.
