Has anyone here looked into the ACT career readiness certificate as an alternative way to pick up three quantitative reasoning credits and a bonus information literacy credit? I didn't see a thread about it, but it is ACE-accredited until at least September 30, 2019:
"Credit is awarded based on the examinees level of achievement: bronze performance - no credit; silver performance - in the vocational certificate category, 3 semester hours in quantitative reasoning and 1 semester hour in information literacy for a total of 4 semester hours. For gold and platinum level of performance - in the lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 3 semester hours in quantitative reasoning and 1 semester hour in information literacy for a total of 4 semester hours (4/16) (4/16)."
You have to get gold- or platinum-level results to be eligible for ACE credit, but no idea what percentage that implies. The fee for the exam is surprisingly hard to find, but for the Northwest Mississippi area, I found it was only $10:

Just thought it could be useful for some people, because it is cheaper than CSM and you get additional credit too, at the cost of needing to go to a testing center. Maybe I'm missing something, but here is the ACT website: https://www.act.org/content/act/en/produ.../ncrc.html

Just checked this out, thanks for the heads up!
In Tuscaloosa, Al (RollTide), the fee seems to be $75. There are a few CCs in the state that offer it so the cost could fluctuate. Thanks for the find ChiGuy, I'm on the lookout for cheap certs to add to the yearly raise application.

I took the ACT workkeys in high school and I know I got good scores. Does that mean I potentially already have credit? How do I check?

I think I saw some kind of option to verify a certificate on the ACT website. Checking on ACE, if you took the exam between June 2012 and March 2016, the credit recommendations are different:
Credit is awarded based on the examinees level of achievement: bronze performance - no credit; silver performance - in the vocational certificate category 3 semester hours in applied critical thinking; gold performance - in the lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree category 3 semester hours in applied critical thinking; and platinum performance - in the lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree category 3 semester hours in applied critical thinking (6/12).

I took it in spring (March or April) 2012.

The earliest time period in ACE's course search is just after when you took your exam. It is likely possible for you to call around to local libraries or community colleges for a testing site, if you want to take it again. You may even be able to just call up your high school and ask them if they know of any testing sites. The test seems to only take about 55 minutes, but it may or may not be worth it to you.

That is too bad. I'll check but unless its free or under say $10 and offered nearby at a convenient time. I don't think need the credit and I don't think its worth it for the situation. I'm 100% positive I took it before June 2012 so no credit for me. Now I still want to find my scores to see how I did and if it was good enough for credit.
In the state where I live a high school Juniors had to take the ACT workkeys. I remember my brother got a really high score then sent a letter talking about college credit and stuff. Idk if they still require the workkeys because now they take the SAT instead.

Just as an update here, it has been renewed by ACE through July 31, 2022. However, credit recommendations have changed:
"Credit is awarded based on the examinees' level of achievement: bronze performance - no credit; silver performance - in the vocational category, 1 semester hour in quantitative analysis or introduction to organizational communication; gold and platinum level performance - in the vocational category, 1 semester hour in applied math and in the lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 2 semester hours in quantitative analysis or introduction to organizational communication (8/19)."
