A History of the Vietnam War -- Upper or Lower?
#1
I need some help with this.

According to (Exam Fact Sheets | DSST | Get College Credit) "A History of the Vietnam War" is 3 upper level credits but on the Master Exam List (https://www.charteroak.edu/exams/exams-master-list.pdf) it says that it is 3 lower level credits.

I have already passed the exam and want to use it as a upper level credit requirement but it seems I am getting conflicting information.

Does anybody know the status of the credits -- upper or lower?

Thanks

Think of it this way: The ACE recommendation for upper or lower is just a suggestion and not binding at all. If COSC says it's lower, it's lower.

For example, there are instances when TESU will make a course lower even though ACE recommends upper.

This is why they're called ACE-recommended courses - because ACE recommends something, and then each school gets to decide for themselves IF they will accept something, and WHAT they will bring it in as.

With TESU, it's normally the opposite - they will call something UL even if ACE says it should be LL (Marketing, Management, MIS, etc.).

I'm going to err on the side of caution and assume it is lower level and get another upper level

It's lower at COSC, see the "master list of exams"

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

TinHead,
It's lower at COSC. My transcript shows it as a lower level credit.

If it makes you feel any better, Excelsior sees it as a LL as well.

Thought I would bump this to let you guys know that COSC has an updated chart and now considers the Vietnam War DSST as upper level credit.
