77 Online credit courses in English from Germany - from €16/ECTS
#1
Hi everyone! I'm still new to this forum, don't know if this has already been posted, but anyway here is how it works:

The website is called "Virtuelle Hochschule Bayern", it's actually not a university but an alliance of Bavaria universities. Here is the Wikipedia (in German).
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtuelle_...ule_Bayern

Wiki basically explains it. If you are a college student in Bavaria, you can enrol for free. Other people can enrol for €40/SWS.  This is tricky to explain. SWS in German means one working hour in a week. There is no official conversion of SWS to ECTS, but normally it's considered 1 SWS = 1.5 ECTS.  You will find different conversion rates for different courses in their catalogue. The lowest one converts as €16/ECTS.

I don't know how they will be evaluated, but since the universities are issuing transcript, it's most likely RA credits.

Here is their catalogue for 2022 (courses in English):
https://www.vhb.org/fileadmin/download/k...nglish.pdf

You can check each course Demo, for example "Programming in C++":

I've looked and I can't figure out: is there a way to tell which university will issue what transcript? If you take 3 courses and they each go on a different university's transcript, then you have to get 3 transcripts evaluated. While a few hundred dollars for 3 courses is still cheap compared to American universities, it'd be a hassle to deal with. Or is it more like TEL and you get to choose which university will issue the transcript?
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

It's hard to say for certain, but it does look like each course is offered by a provider university ("Trägerhochschule"), which would probably be the one issuing the transcript. So different courses might have different providers.

On the catalogue, it says which course is offered by which university.
WES evaluation cost is per evaluation, not per University/degree. You get ONE consolidated report including all transcripts to send to your US university.
Here is an example: https://www.degreeinfo.com/index.php?thr...but.60696/
And if you want to update the evaluation (e.g. add course), you only need to pay $80, not another $200.

I'm specially interested in the math courses, "Introduction to Engineering Mathematics " and "History of Mathematics" seem to be UL for TESU degree.

The university under the professor's name is the one that will be doing the transcript? I thought that was just where the professors are tenured, not necessarily which one will transcript the course. Because "Imaging in Astronomy" has two professors and two universities listed: "Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg" and "Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg".

I already sent the email with my scanned registration letter.

However, I was not able to log in yet, with the username they sent me, and the password I created previously. If I read it correctly, I should have been able to log in already, but with a limited functionality.

Yes, I also noticed History of Mathematics, that could help at BA Math, I saw the "Introduction to Engineering Mathematics", but was not sure if it would be helpful, or just transfer as another Calculus I.

did you register account for OPEN VBH? It's a separate platform. I think the account for CLASSIC VBH will only be given and activated after they approve the form.

No, I didn´t register for OPEN VBH, In order to login, I tried to select Classic and 2022, but it seems like if it was logging at the same website.

I looked again, just found out that on the course page (top right "Kursdetails") it says which course is offered by which university ("Trägerhochschule")
