60+ Credits in 60 days
#1
Well, I certainly didn't set a goal for completing x number of credits over x number of days, but much to my surprise I've knocked out over 60 credits in the last 60 days primarily through testing. I had wanted to start last summer, but I couldn't fit it in with the way my schedule turned out. A couple months ago, I just decided that I would run on over to a testing center about an hour away whenever I could steal some time from my hectic schedule. They have a no appointments necessary policy that fit my busy, over-scheduled life. Whenever I unexpectedly had some time on my hands, I knocked out 2-4 tests. Here's the list:

College Composition Modular CLEP
Analyzing and Interpreting Literature CLEP
Technical Writing DSST
Intermediate Algebra ALEKS
College Mathematics CLEP
College Algebra CLEP
Information Systems and Computer Applications CLEP
Enviroment and Humanity DSST
Natural Sciences CLEP
Civil War and Reconstruction DSST
Intro to the Modern Middle East DSST
A History of the Vietnam War DSST
The Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union DSST
Personal Finance DSST
Macroeconomics CLEP
Microeconomics CLEP
Money and Banking DSST

(I squeezed in a couple Brick and Mortar Grad classes in there too Wink)

I am probably done with the exception of knocking out a couple of accounting courses from Straighterline, but you never know...

Although I took some tests cold, I did use InstaCert almost exclusively for those tests that I did prep for. It was the difference between passing and not passing in some cases. On other tests it helped me score much higher than I would have otherwise.

WOW!!!! Great job!!!! I have a couple of questions for you. I also use IC, but typically give a week to study for each test. I am now in a major time crunch to finish all of my business requirements in time to enroll in my Capstone class in March. I am sweating it because if I don't do the capstone in March, I will miss my chance of graduating in the Spring. If I don't graduate in the Spring, I will need to fork over another 1500 bucks for enrollment for another year...

Anyhow... long story short. I am wondering what your secret is. Be honest here. If you just really have a great memory or are smarter than the average person, don't be shy Wink

Do you dedicate the entire day to IC flashcards or is there some other secret? I would love to hear all about it and hopefully do exactly what you're doing :-)

Thanks!!

I've only ever given the IC flashcards a once through for any given test. I'd like to think that I am a savy multiple choice test taker and I am well read, but my memory isn't particularly stellar. I did skim the specific feedback for each test to see what others had written about taking a particular test before I took the plunge myself. I certainly have never spent the whole day studying for a single test though, with the exception of College Math and College Algebra where I spent a couple months on ALEKS Beginning and Intermediate Algebra as my prep.

I know what is easy for some may be difficult for others. My test taking choices might not pan out for everyone, but what worked for me was grouping my tests together and knocking out 2 or 3 at a time that were somewhat related.

Awesome achievement!
I have been going pretty fast but definitely not that fast.
We all have our methods but I do like how you have lumped some similar tests together. This is definitely effective.

I did macro and micro together which is a no brainer. I also did marketing, mgmt then psychology which actually have some overlap too.

American govt and early us history also have a little overlap.

The computer clep and dssts are obviously connected as well.

What did you study for the Natural Science CLEP? Just the Biology instacert?

I only read through the InstaCert Flashcards for the Enviroment and Humanity DSST exam one time. That was enough to help me pass the Natural Science CLEP exam.
