Any tips or study suggestions for the second history clep? for those who have taken it, how was it? ive studied all the flash cards and the petersons exams...its just so much information to memorize. im more of a science, math, logical type and trying to remember all these facts and dates is killing me. I have been studying for a while but still dont really feel like i have a good grip on the material so any help is much appreciated. thanks!

How have you done on the Peterson's practice exams you took? If you're getting above 50% (preferably 60%) then you should be good to go.
Whenever I came across something in the flashcards I had never heard of before, I looked it up on Wikipedia. This form of self-research helped make the information stick. I used InstantCert and the REA (Research & Education Academy) book, both of which were very helpful.

First test I'll have taken in, well, a ton of years. I'm doing IC, the REA book, and like my son says, looking it up in Wiki (well, I'm gonna do that).
 One thing I did was to mark up my REA book pretty much drawing in it as I read. Also, with all those names that don't make any sense, give them a picture in your head. Like say, Fordney-McCumber Act is now President Ford's knee with a McDonald's burger and cucumber balancing on it! For the Underwood-Simmons Act or whatever it was, think of a Simmons bed under some wood in the forest. It helps me to remember these names AND it's fun to do too.

Have you tried Cliff's Quick Review. I read that and it thoroughly prepared me with the IC cards to take the exam.

From my experience, this is a tough exam, as you really have to have a handle on the actual concept, not just memorized facts. You may be asked to interperet political cartoons according to what you know about the era and stuff like that. Just my two cents.

It has been a few months since I took this exam, but I don't remember being asked a lot of dates. It does help me to learn things in chronological order, though. A couple of different things you could try: Resource: A Biography of America videos Historyteacher.net â I really liked the AP Quizzes. Best wishes on your exam!

That must have been on your Psych test!
I've been studying for U.S. History II these past couple of weeks. It's amazing how much I have learned, stuff I never knew, or forgot! And I just got a perfect score on HistoryTeacher.net's AP exam section on Reconstruction. I'm 49 (turning 50 on July 3rd) and this has been a great way to keep my brain active.
