AND, there were more CLEP 6cr courses, foreign language was worth 12cr, and there were more UL DSST's. A lot of that has changed. Then, add all the new cheaper options, and testing just isn't as good of a deal for a lot of people now. My comment was meant tongue in cheek. People will use whatever is best for them.

PrLoko-isms Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently. Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end. Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example. Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work. Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

So has there been any feedback / results yet from these new tests? Really curious about Principles of Advanced English Composition, considering it's described as upper level but recommended for lower level kind of hard to get a read on if I should consider it of simply take the CLEP. The CLEP is tried and true but I don't write very quickly

They describe it some ways as advanced and upper level, which is somewhat misleading. However, it is specifically recommended for 3 hours of lower level credit in English Composition II.
From ACE, the complete description: Principles of Advanced English Composition (SQ301; SR301) Credit Type: Exam ACE Course Number: 0075 Organization: DSST by Prometric Location: Over 1,900 colleges and universities recognize the DSST program and award college credit for passing scores. Colleges, universities and corporations throughout the United States and in some other countries administer tests year-round. All test center locations can be found at DSST | Get College Credit. Length: 2 hours Dates Offered: 11/1/2016 - 10/31/2019 Description: This examination is a multiple-choice exam designed to evaluate whether candidates possess the knowledge and understanding that would be gained by taking an upper level college course in English Composition. The exam covers topics including types of writing, elements of effective writing, reading and writing arguments and using secondary sources. Prometric's DSST exams traditionally have 100 items per form to be completed in 2 hours. However, in this instance, based on the recommendations from the subject matter experts involved in the development of this exam, this has been reduced to 64 items per form to be completed in the 2 hour time frame. Each form contains scenarios to which multiple items apply; therefore, this allows candidates time to read these larger bodies of text. Skills Measured: The skills measured include types of writing (4 percent); elements of effective writing (32 percent); reading and writing arguments (32 percent); and using secondary sources (32 percent). Credit Recommendation: In the lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 3 semester hours in english composition II. Credit is recommended for examinees with scores of 40 and above. (11/16).

I like math but this one got me on the stuff that I get bored at studying. A lot of solving problems and not direct calculations. I took it jurist for the challenge but I failed with 367 points. Missed the 400 passing. I wish I looked my time to focus on the topic at the fact sheet. I only glanced at it 2 hrs before the test. I ended with 10 minutes left to answer about 30 questions that I skipped. A lot of questions on these topics: - logic - compound interest - continuous growth or decay module - probability

How would you recommend someone study for the new english comp 2 DSST? I had planned on looking up whatever the recommended study material was for the old clep version and just use it but thought I'd seek some guidance on here first. Also if I take a DSST exam at a center that uses paper will they grade it on site immediately?

You look up the Exam Fact Sheet, look at the Content Outline to figure out what to study for, and they even have suggested books to study for the exam.
