I do think it's difficult, but a really good way to squeeze a class into a busy schedule. I would say that if you like accounting and find it relatively easy to study and understand, you might want to try a CLEP first because it will be much quicker. However, if it's a topic that you really need to learn in more detail or just can't cram enough to pass the CLEP, SL is a very good option. SL is self-paced, so you can finish much quicker than a normal semester, but it will likely take longer than the week I usually take to prepare for and take a CLEP/DSST.
On another note, I just started the SL Macroeconomics and will post feedback for that once I've gone through it.
I signed up for Straighterline Macro and Micro and ended up ditching them for the CLEP versions after I realized how much time it would take to finish the courses through Straighterline. It was much easier for me to CLEP out of them with minimal effort. I'm almost at that point with accounting. I probably could have studied for and passed the Accounting CLEP in half the time it has taken me to get through the Accounting 1 CLEP so far, and I still have a ways to go.
