Devry education
#4
I had checked out engineering technology degrees when I first was looking at finishing up my bachelors. The point of the the engi tech degrees seem to position the holder as a go-between for engineers and the people who are working to make what the engineers design. Doesn't seem to have quite a lot of upward mobility to it, and there's no real grad level for it, if you wanted to go further with education.

And as Ricky Joe stated, DeVry is expensive. I could see spending 30-50k+ on an actual engineering degree, but on a engi tech degree? I'd check around a little more, because you can find those (at least at associate level) for a whole lot less cost. If you've got a place paying for it? I, personally, would still look for a better deal costwise. For example, EC offers the following -

Bachelor Degrees in Technology

Bachelor of Science, Electronics Engineering Technology ***
Bachelor of Science, Information Technology *
Bachelor of Science, Nuclear Engineering Technology ***
Bachelor in Professional Studies in Technology Management
Bachelor of Science, Technology with Specialty**

* Excelsior College awards credit for many IT certification examinations, including but not limited to MicrosoftÂ, CiscoÂ, CompTIAÂ, OracleÂ, SASÂ, and Sun MicrosystemsSM.
** Designed to capitalize on the formal training of U.S. Military personnel. Effective September 1, 2010, specialties will become areas of focus.
***Accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, 111 Market Place, Suite 1050, Baltimore, MD 21202-4012 - telephone 410 - 347-7700.

Even though they're ~$320/credit it, if you took the whole degree through them, they're $39800 for the full degree.

With a partnership enrollment, the degree, if all classes are taken through them is $33000, but a huge chunk of that can be filled by CLEPs, DSSTs, and the like. For example, if you earn 60 credits (1/2 of the degree) through CLEPs et al., you're looking at $17k v. $67k for the degree...

While I realize that EC doesn't have the Biomed Engi Tech that you were looking for, I was just using them as an example.

In your situation, I'd also point to the Bachelor in Professional Studies in Technology Management that EC offers. That may do you well, too...

Good luck!
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius. I am not selling anything nor am I working my way through college, so let's get down to basics: you are a rabbit and I am going to eat you for supper. Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.

Bachelor of Science in PsychoRabbitology degree
Master of Education with a specialty in Rabbit-specific destructive munitions (or eLearning & Technology, I forget which)
Doctor of Philosophy in Wile E. Leadership with an area of specialty in Acme Mind Expansion - 2017 Hopefully
