I took the US History I test this week and as many of you have shared it was a rough one. This is now the 4th test I completed so I do have something to compare against... The good news--- I PASSED! And of what I can recall my test spent a lot of time around 19th century -- Federalist- Demecratic-Republican-Lincoln Missiouri Act- Kansas-Nebraska Act- slavery--Know which state were in the Cofederate states- and Civil War. Also, know "who said what". I would say they asked 7 - 10 questions based on a quote and you needed to know who made that statement. Additionally, they do ask about writers and artist, Uncle Tom's Cabin, Moby Dick
Now I studied for just over a week, but outside of going to work, all I did was study. I focused on all the Instant Cert questions, and also used the study sites that were recommended by others in this thread--
I especially liked the Resource: A Biography of America videos-- I feel it helped a lot: Resource: A Biography of America.
I also used Peterson Prep tests and FAILED 2 tests-- so I agree-- these tests are harder than the actual test-- HOWEVER--- there were exact questions taken from the Peterson tests that were on the exam-- so I do recommend taking the tests, but not so much to see where you are at, but as another source to study from. I spent the 2 nights prior to the test on Peterson site and I am glad I did.
I wish you all pass--- I graduate in May and using this site I was able to save money and an entire semister in the traditional world. THANK YOU !!!
