I spent my last two semesters typing at least two papers a week in APA format for different classes. I may be able to answer your questions.
First question for you, are you using the 5th edition APA? I think it is the latest edition.
If so, then for in text citations I will give examples:
For website usage we used many ways, but the most important is to be
consistent throughout the entire paper. Example for a website by American Red Cross.
The American Red Cross (2009) states such and such.........continuing to paraphrase and cited the same as mentioned above at the end of the paragraph (American Red Cross, 2009).
If you are not mentioning them in your paper (i.e. stating such and such) and just referencing the material it is cited with the source at the end of the paragraph (Thompson, 2009).
