I'm stationed at RAF Mildenhall (70 miles north of London), where I've been for nearly two years. Prior to coming here, I lived in Japan for 15 years: 5 in Okinawa, 8 in Tokyo, and 2 in Misawa (Northern Japan). As you can probably tell, I loved Japan and may go back there when I retire (My wife is Japanese). It was an extremely safe country with a great culture and deep traditions. England, on the other hand, just won the dubious award of having the worst crime of ANY country in the world. It's a real joy to be here, let me tell you...... On the bright side, I've met some extremely nice people here but you always are watching your back/property/vehicles/house/children for the crime. That, coupled with the fact the exchange rate is nearly $2 for one Sterling Pound, makes it a place I'm past ready to leave. Thus the rush to finish the degree which will clear the path to retirement.
