First off, Excelsior confers degrees monthly. Check out the Publications Request page on their website, and download the Graduation Processing Parameters document for dates. In other words, if you take the appropriate exams, classes, or combination of these, you should be able to graduate by your deadline. Also, if you do transfer to Excelsior, they will also consider the Sociology CLEP and the class you took in 1996 as duplicate credit, and I'm not sure if they'd throw one of them out altogether.
