I have yet to take notes while using IC, but I would not hesitate if I felt I needed to. Before I discovered IC, I took notes from book study but that's just because the act of writing down a concept helped it stick, not because I wanted to review my notes later. The fill-in-the-blank set up of IC sort of takes the place of note-taking for me.
