I get the feeling that Trump is a bit like Paul von Hindenburg in 1933 who thought he could control Hitler. Trump thinks he can control Vance, Musk, and the techno/crypto-fascists. Trump is signing executive orders about straws while Musk is collecting the largest and most valuable dataset in history. He now knows just about anything worth knowing about the financial, health, and personal lives of hundreds of millions of people. In all likelihood he knows who all of our spies are, who all of the double agents working on America’s behalf are, and what levers to push to manipulate the economy any way he chooses. He is the most powerful person in the world and Trump is concerned with trans kids not being able to play youth soccer. Trump handed the keys to the kingdom to Musk and he doesn’t seem to have the foggiest idea.
