Wait, what just happened? GIU is following in the footsteps of EIU (European International University), as they're going for ASIC and other accreditation or memberships. A junior member of this board keeps updating the EIU threads, I remember telling them to forgo that option even though they're a candidate for ACBSP programmatic or secondary accreditation.  

Basically, accreditation and membership are two vastly different things, being accredited means the programs offered have gone through a review, being a member is fine, but their programs haven't been evaluated, thus, the quality is unknown.  EIU offered a professional degree option for $5K Euro (75% scholarship discount), I declined (unless they get ACBSP).

Now, having that $1K offering does seem more tempting at the doctoral level... For the most part, ASIC UK is not really an accreditation authority, but more of an immigration or education scheme where they bypass proper UK authorization, they're more of a grey area, people in academia will reject these, but others for employment or personal growth, it may be acceptable.

I mean, that guy has just been antagonizing and lying to me the whole time and is denying me a refund on the basis of a transfer evaluation having been done even though that "clause" is not stated in the cancellation policy and I don't know any school that has this clause.

So, yeah, given this is the support I'm receiving from him, I'm not interested in pursuing further education at this school. Not to mention, his ego.

I mean he's been actively disrespecting me in our email exchanges.

GIU's actions show a real degree mill attitude, such as not wanting to give a refund because they want to keep your funds, knowing that the school is a scam and that they do not make any income. You got scammed, and lessons to be learned never apply to a school like that. You can't even get the Better Business Bureau or the accreditation agency involved because they do not have any "real" accreditation accepted within the United States. It's such a shame that they did this to you and the way he talks to you. He does not even hold a doctorate to present that type of entitled attitude.
