I was also asked to send an official transcript from the university I attended, but when I tried to do that, I discovered that I have a financial hold for an amount of money that is impossible for me to pay off anytime soon.

Did you pay for any of the classes or credits for the 5 courses you passed for that school during that time?

If so, I'm pretty sure you can still get a copy of your transcripts if you contact the school because I've seen it happen first-hand. I can give you a template of what to send to the college registrar's office in order to properly request it. But that only works if you paid at least some money rather than none at all.
