I like what you are planning to do. I just started my 28th year of teaching at a public high school in Wisconsin. It's a great job. There are lots of people who like the flexibility of substitute teaching and being part of the school community.
I would at least give a few minutes of thought to what happens if you really, really like teaching and want to turn it into a full-time gig at some point.
