Hi there,
Here is my sorry looking current template. Will add some more context below, thanks so much for looking.
Your Location: United Kingdom
Your Age: 31
What kind of degree do you want?: Honestly the cheapest dirtiest route to a BA possible. Looking at TESU Liberal Studies or English
Current Regional Accredited Credits:
Open University:
M140 - Introducing Stastics - Pass - 15.00 ECTS(European Credit Transfer System)
TM111 - Introduction to IT and Computing 1 - Distinction - 15.00 ECTS
TM112 - Introduction to IT and Computing 2 - Distinction - 15.00 ECTS
MST124 - Essential Mathematics 1 - Pass - 15.00 ECTS
Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits: N/A
Any certifications or military experience?: Registered Data Ethics Professional Accredited by the Open Data Institute in the UK
Budget: Preferably keep under $10k
Commitments: I work full time 9 - 17.30 Mon - Fri, mainly from home. Other than that not much apart from my little dog!
Dedicated time to study: Estimating 24 - 27 depending on the week
Timeline: Would hope to finish within 12 - 18 months
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: N/A
Currently enrolled in a BsC (Hons) Data Science with the Open University in the UK due to a massive change in life circumstances I have realized this is definitely not for me. I am working on a new plan which requires any bachelor's degree at all. I would just stick out Open University but this is going to cost me tens of thousands of pounds as well as a minimum of 4 years, which is really too much much money and time for me.
The modules listed above are equivalent to the first year of full time study on a three year degree program in the UK. From trying to get my head round everything it looks like I would need to send these modules off to an organisation like ECE for evaluation. That all being well and good it seems to me that these should be worth around 30 credit hours, but I am wondering about applicability considering I want to change to a BA?
Looking at the big 3 it seems like as an international student I am limited to TESU and Excelisior, with TESU looking like the most popular option especially given my preferred subject choice. I have learned the hard way with my current studies that anything involving math is a real struggle for me, so hopefully my previous (very painful!) studies this might alleviate the need to do anything further in these subjects.
I know I need to start getting credits from places like the free credit sources and Sofia.org, but I don't want to put time into anything that wouldn't be required because of my previous study.
Apologies if the above was all a bit scattered, but any advice at ALL would be super-duper welcome. this forum seems like a really awesome supportive place and am looking forward to my journey here!
