Hi all,
I am trying to find a route to prove my English language proficiency without taking a test that requires listening. I am hard of hearing and I cannot leave my house at the moment, so it is difficult for me to take IELTS/TOEFL/Duolingo/etc. without any extra adjustments – and most of these seem to exist only in the offline form of the test. I mailed UMPI already to ask whether me being enrolled in an online MA in the UK would be grounds for waiving the requirement.
My question is, if this does not work out, since they mention that they would consider a completed English Composition course at the regionally accredited college as a reason to waive this requirement, would it make sense for me to take online CLEP from that course? Does it involve any listening apart from communication with the proctor, which probably can be done via chat? Or are there any other routes that I did not think about? I am not located in an English-speaking country.
Thanks in advance for your help :-)
PS The anti-bot question accompanying the registration form on this board is very Canadian centric, just saying :-)
