Black is tough, you’re not guaranteed a 100% by him either and your papers will look like a science project when he sends them back to you.

Dr. Black's focus is on helping you be a great writer/thinker/communicator. He gave me so much amazing feedback... and I was already a pretty good writer.  He is incredibly generous with his time, you can call as often as you want to, at literally any hour (my friend got off work at 3am Dr Black's time, and he said to call then!)  And yes, he will let you redo any assignment for a better grade.

If you approach it as an opportunity to work with an amazing writing coach instead of being annoyed by getting  a lot of comments on your paper, you will emerge a much better writer/thinker/learner.

To be fair, they weren't simple APA mistakes. My undergrad professors were *extremely* lenient on APA, and my familiarity was with APA 6, not APA 7. I did not realize how little I fully understood APA until I had Dr. Black. Looking at that paper now, it was an embarrassment. But Dr. Black was kind and patient and explained everything.

He prepared me so well for grad school that I was able to get my graduate program to waive the requirement for their normally required APA/professional writing course.
