I was actually surprised they didn't include any discrete math. When they updated the Network Operations & Security degree to an Engineering degree they added discrete math(3, 1 credit courses) so I figured they'd add those to the Software degree after changing it from Development to Engineering. I agree with Rachel, the only time I see it being a major issue is grad programs that have hard prerequisites, though of course that can be bypassed by taking calc elsewhere. Other than that, the concepts learned in calc/discrete aren't absolutely essential for a standard software engineering career(probably making CRUD applications), but the concepts can still be very valuable in the long run.
