"UpGrad courses from GGU & LJMU are legit though - you can search the CanadaVisa forums for positive WES reports of the Liverpool John Moores University's masters that's offered on UpGrad. "
Not sure what do you mean when you say "legit" what do you imply by those words. And it is kinda early to say anything about GGU since the program was lunched 3 months ago by UpGrad, to sing praises. Regarding LJMU i've read other problems people encountered with the programs all related on UpGrad's side of things. (review pages and court reports by people with their experience with upgrad)
..and these two link's just from this year state/provide insight that something is not quite right with UpGrad;

..and as i have posted in a different thread the notice from UGC India from 16.01.2022. regarding misleading tactics by edtech from India and the partnered Institutions.
"And let's be honest here - it's not like content created by professors or university staff is guaranteed to be good."
This is a common discussion and clash on this forum, what should and Institution be. I am in the camp you should learn and be prepared by said (higher education university/college) institution for the labor market you are finishing your degree (speaking from a young persons point of view, looking for bachelor, master degree type of programs, to provide more context, and right there is the biggest trap UpGrad and 2U type of companies abuse) .. right there is a big problem regarding these proxy like higher education business, it has been reported that the program/curriculum is very bleak, bad. "Professors" seem to be ether a freshman, or at some times people with no academic background what so ever just passing on pdf files, and prerecorded video's to given an impression of an "online" college.
I would also argue the materials provided by generations in public schools and funding is by far superior in case of bachelor, master type of programs. Business type of programs for mba's not soo much, but you would also want good networking and reliable alumni.
