I had to take a course in literature back in the day. Boring as heck! The weeks about poetry were like pure torture. I had friends who thought it was the greatest class ever and wished the whole course was poetry. I probably would have stepped into rush hour traffic if I had to spend 15 weeks on a poetry class. Waterboarding would be less cruel. LOL Sophia's ethics class was not my friend!
Yes US educaton especially. At least in the UK courses are subject specific and we don't have to do gen eds.
