In regards to UMPI and other schools, it's confusing about the "area of study, concentration, emphasis, focus, major/minor". The schools determine that, but we just accidentally use the wrong wording sometimes. @OP, list of minors here: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...or-Inquiry
Having said that, you can also decide on the UMPI BAS with a minor listed above, or two even. It all depends on what you're trying to do! The BAS is a logical ladder for your AAS as the AAS already has 45 "technical credits". You may just want to "finish the BAS" and start grad school next!
For those who are looking at the Pierpont BOG AAS and ladder onto UMPI BAS, you need 40 technical credits. AAS has 39 elective credits you can pick from, you can choose all technical courses for those and use the 1 credit ASU UL course at $25 to complete the requirements! Voila, you can now apply for the UMPI BLS and ask the academic advisor to change that to the BAS.
I'm not sure how the Pierpont AAS has 45 technical credits. UMPI may not see 45 technical credits. Someone on here recently was told they didn't qualify for the BAS at UMPI after completing the AAS at Pierpont because they didn't have the 40+ technical credits. UMPI considers technical credits to be in specific fields based on info on their website:
