That's a good point.
Things would taste funny if we got rid of all sugar. Imagine how spaghetti/pizza sauce would taste.
Gatorade based on "science" supposedly contains lots of sugar in it though around 1/2 of soda. This is used by athletes.
The question is who decides how much sugar is too much? I don't trust the government to decide that.
A while back, Mike Bloomberg tried to ban large soda before it was overturned by the courts
