But it's not like college, where you're going to school for 4-5 years before you make money in your field (generally). It's working and making a good living AND doing schooling and whatnot until you're licensed. Not even close to the same thing.
If you were an accounting major in college, your chances of landing a good accounting job making $40k starting your 2nd month of college are about nil. Your chances of making $40k a couple of months after starting a plumbing apprenticeship are very good.
