Maybe he needs the Bachelor in PSY. as a step for something. or needs XXX number of undergrad credits in PSY for something. Different countries, different rules. We do not know.

Exactly, we won't know until we ask and find out from the Original Poster.  Let's wait and see...

I would never recommend that someone skips a bachelor's that they want and go to a masters.  What if they never get around to that master's degree?  Or can't afford it?  What if the degree they want can do something for them now?

Depending on what their response is to my post... I would!  Especially since they already have a foreign BA in Sociology.  If they wanted Psychology in the beginning and did not have a BA, then my answer would have been different as well...  

Again, let's wait and see... I was more into telling them to skip the Bachelors altogether to save the energy, money, time and go straight to the Masters, but we'll see why a BA Psychology is needed and if a BALS-Psych will suffice...

Some people are looking for a lateral move sideways, I'm seeing if an upward move is better, since it may take more than 30+ credits to finish a Bachelors, skipping it would allow them to finish a 30 credit Masters in roughly the same time, similarly the amount of energy/money as well.

Last but not least, my post was to get more details and seeing what their response is, it's not a "you must follow BJ's rules".  It's something they might want to look at for suggestions and options to proceed.  People have their own thoughts and will either agree or disagree with what I've provided as possible paths.

How did you know they have a foreign BA in Soc?  They didn't say so in the post...
