Sophia's new course isn't on the equivalent sheet though I added it to the degree plan since it might work.

This grant is income based which can be problematic for many people. It definitely was for me when I was college age and was somehow supposed to depend on my parents to help pay my tuition decades ago.
In 2016, about 1/3 of community college students received Pell Grants with an average award of $3300.
The Pell Grant is income-based. Families with an income below 175% of the federal poverty level and single parents with an income below 225% of the poverty level will automatically be entitled to receive the maximum Pell Grant award.
The Pell Grant award goes by Expected Family Contribution (EFC) so it's not hard to figure out how much you can get. Just punching in some numbers, a family earning $60,000 may still be able to get 1/2 of the Pell Grant award. Free money is free money.
