UMPI BLS - Management Minor and History Minor (My Path)

So you are telling me that there are no students who have ever taken even 1 college credit applying to UMPI?  I find that hard to believe.  I know from working where I do that MOST students who come into a program HAVE taken some credits before (maybe 75% have at least 1cr).  There just aren't that many people out there who want to go to college that have never gone to CC or done something to get credits at some point in their lives.  They may not have much - I've seen plenty of people who never got past developmental-level courses in Math or English; I've seen plenty who have taken 1 or 2 courses - but very few people have NO credits at all.  Especially considering UMPI YourPace requires you to have 2 years of work experience and be 20 years old, so it's not like these are people fresh out of high school.

No where did I say no students haven't transferred credit into UMPI. UMPI is designed for the local folks in that region of Maine. Their whole approach to YourPace is catered specifically for working adults in Maine. That's word for word from the creator of the program's mouth. This region of Maine is VERY rural so no many people living there have not previously attended college. The program was purposely designed for people who have never attended college which is a large chunk of the population of Maine. Their focus is not on people outside of Maine. They develop everything with a reason and a purpose. There's a reason they have an MAOL and not an MBA. They won't be offering an MBA any time soon from what I was told because they don't want to cannibalize degrees from other U of M's and the grad school has an online MBA already. So they do have a plan and a reason which people outside of UMPI's staff may or may not know.

You said most of their students aren't bringing in credits.

The number of Maine residents who have a college degree is almost exactly the national average - 33%.  Another 30% have some college or an associates degree.  Aroostook County is still 19.2% with a college degree, and 33% with some college/associates.  So my guess is, plenty of people in that area are coming in with SOME credits - and it would make sense to make the degrees easier to understand with this in mind (and really, it would make sense to make the degrees easier to understand even if nobody had transfer credits).

Making the degree easier to understand helps EVERYONE.

Still doesn't address my overall point - MAKING THE DEGREE EASIER TO UNDERSTAND IS GOOD FOR EVERYONE, credits transferring in or not. I don't know why this is an argument at all.  This is stupid.
