Schools in America Now Becoming More Insane Than North Korea

I've never been to Columbia, but I attended the very liberal Texas State University and took classes from liberal sociologists. I was never scolded for liking Jane Austen. I know that when schools teach historical facts, such as the horrors of chattel slavery, the racists call it indoctrination and Critical Race Theory. Obviously, they don't know what CRT is. Right wing extremists believe that the negative parts of U.S. history should not be taught because they're snowflakes. For people who are always complaining about those discussing the past, they sure do have a problem with letting go of the Rebel flag that represents losers and Lost Cause mythology.

I did have a conservative criminal justice professor who was a former Republican politician. He told our class that, after reading the research and conducting some of his own, he couldn't deny that there is unequal treatment in the criminal justice system based on race and ethnicity. Of course, the Q cult would call him a RINO for not denying facts. We've seen how Representative Liz Cheney was treated by her own party for not lying, and she's so ultra conservative, she threw her own lesbian sister under the bus.

I have had both liberal and conservative professors throughout my career and I work with both types at my full time position. The thing to do is just be open minded and think for yourself. Remember that people are entitled to their opinions and leave it at that. I do have some colleagues who do their best to avoid anything controversial in their classes, as one said to me the other day, "I really do not need the headache of this type of debate nor do I need the complaints." Some of my colleagues do love a good debate, so you  do hear about how heated things are in history, pyschology, religion, and criminal justice courses at the moment and the complaints from students are rampant in these courses, as today's students are easily offended.
