My Italian acquaintance got curious and kept looking into this university. Without actually contacting anyone at La Sapienza, they are probably 99% sure that the degrees are legitimate.
The downside is still the exams that need to be taken in Rome itself. But, hey, an Italian vacation sounds pretty cool.
