"Next 5 credits = 6 items to respond to 3-4 paragraphs each plus references, 10 page paper plus references, and 8-11 page paper plus references on a biography of your choice."

These are all of the things that need to be done for the 5 credit course.

Most courses are broken up into three sections. For example, the first credit may require "6 items to respond to with 3-4 paragraphs for each item plus references." Then the next 2 credits would require the "10 page paper plus references." And the final 2 credits for the course may require an "8-11 page paper plus references."
