Just to add my 2 cents....I'd definitely go with the Social Sciences & History CLEP. This was my very first CLEP and I recieved a 60.
I would try to get your hands on the Barron's CLEP 2008 book, and any other CLEP related books that include sample questions. All I did was go through the sample questions from 3-4 different books and studied the sample practice tests in the Official CLEP Study Guide.
I also brushed up on some subjects like Sociology and American Government on IC.
Long story short BMILLS....on a scale of 1 to 10 I rate this exam a 4.
