Finance Related Exams - What's your Opinion?
#1
I would greatly appreciate suggestions on the following choices:

1)What order would you take the following finance-related exams in?
2)AND if you had to pick one of the two Economics exams: Principles of Macroeconomics or Principles of Microeconomics - which one would you do/have you done and consider that most relevant to the other two exams (Finance and M&B)?

3)Note I also have to do Bus Law I - is there any value/relevance in doing this one before M&B ?

Principles of Finance
Principles of Macroeconomics
Principles of Microeconomics
Money and Banking

I have no prior knowledge in any of these areas.

Thanks much for the feedback!

Hi Knucyt,
1) I am studying for the Money and Banking test right now. IMO, I would take the Finance group in the order that you listed. I had to go back and review some Macro to bring me up to speed and it would have been beneficial to take Money and Banking soon after Macro.

2) I would definitely pick Macro as being the most relevant to Money and Banking.

3) I don't see any value in taking Business Law I before these but if you have to take Business Law II I would take both Business Laws before the Finance group. I found some relevance in Money and Banking having just completed Business Law II that seemed to be a little bit of a help to me.

Good luck, let us know how it goes.Smile

Thank you very much for your recommendations - good feedback.

After looking into Prin. of Finance (it seems to be a challenging exam!) I think I am going to do Macro first to get my feet wet. I cannot get credit for Micro (it's either Macro or Micro)...

Have either of you done Prin. of Finance?

Thanks much for the feedback.

I think Macro is a good choice as it should help you prepare for Principle of Finance. I took Finance after studying for about a month. It was one of the hardest exams I have taken but, if you know IC and read through one the reccommended texts you should be able to pass.

Thanks Farmerboy! Do you think microeconomics is a pre-requisite to Principles of Finance, even tho' I don't have to take both Macro/Micro? It seems clear to me now that Principles of Finance and Money and Banking are definitely indepth study exams from all the feedback I have seen thus far in the forums. I am really not looking forward to preparing for these Finance-related exams in addition to taking a regular class on campus. Deep finance is not really my cup of tea!! One day at a time!

Good luck on the pre-calc exam!

Thanks.

I think that you woulld be able to take finance without taking micro. Macro is the more relevant of the two.
