Right now, the Sophia course is completely free, and it consists of recording yourself giving two presentations of approximately 500 words on a subject of your own choice; a draft or intial speech, and an updated one based on input provided by a Sophia instructor. I found the grading to be very fair, and as a student with extensive experience of Sophia, I am confident that they will be tolerant of any issues encountered by a non-native English speaker.
I haven't taken SDC Public Speaking, but as I understand it, there are a battery of quizzes, three speeches (one each of Informative, Persuasive, and Special Occasion, meaning three separate projects) and a final, proctored exam.
If there is a reason to take SDC Public Speaking over Sophia, I haven't found it yet.
Thanks for your feedback...
Maybe i am wrong with SDC non-recrod/non-speech, maybe it is SL oral communication the one that is non-record/non-speech course??
