Thanks all! I knew you'd give me some good options. We'll see what TESU says and apply at COSC as well to see what their evaluation looks like. Definitely get some of those free credits while he can. Also, straighterline looks good.
Ok, yes he'd like to get a Bachelor's at some point and can possibly transfer back in some credits for his private pilot license.
As far as flying: This has been his plan for years now. My stupidity (and most of my money) sent him to the Citadel. Anyway, he was just above water there. He could conceivably finish there online/night school but they are traditional as far as credits go. Son has already talked to the flight dr. who will have to evaluate him for medical clearance. 90 days off meds, then a day or 2 of testing depending on what the initial testing indicates. I wish this was not his path as I think it will be a looonngg time before he can get all he needs to fly as a career but there is a pilot shortage. It will be a hard road for him but if it's what he wants to do I think we will find out immediately after he starts taking lessons whether he can make it or not.
