Civilians - Residency Requirements: 16 credits using Online, Guided Study, or E-Packs
With the study.com discount, it's $379x16 = $6064
Military - Residency Requirements: 24 credits using Online, Guided Study, E-Packs AND TECEP OR Portfolio Assessment
With the TECEPs Lower Level at $50 a credit, 24 credits = $1200
TLDR: In short - If you're an active service person (ladies and gents), take all the TECEPs you can and skip the residency waiver, even if the courses duplicate what you currently have.
In order to satisfy the credit requirement for the Military Degree Completion Program, Navy College Program Distance Learning Partnership or the GoArmyEd Program, service members must earn 12 semester hours for an associate degree and 24 semester hours for a bachelor’s degree of Thomas Edison State University credit. All Thomas Edison State University earned credit satisfies the military credit requirement; including Guided Study/Online/Blended/e-Pack courses, TECEP exams and/or Portfolio Assessment.
