Offhand I would think this is not good advice.  Excelsior definitely takes courses accredited under the Department of Education umbrella.  This is a relatively newer policy (within last 10 years?).  You could also try APU/AMU and Liberty.  There are likely dozens, if not hundreds more.  The cost in application fees is low compared to the time and money lost from walking away from a partial degree.

I'm not saying that you should completely discard your credits and start over without looking at your options; that was never said.

I AM saying that it MAY be easier/faster/cheaper to start over.  AMU/APU and Liberty require 30cr at their school, so that's going to take time and money that you wouldn't have to pay going through the Big 3.  You can get an entire BALS through one of the Big 3 for MAX $6600, $7600, or $8600 from scratch.  30cr at AMU is $8700 min and 30cr at Liberty is $12,098 if you're full-time for 2 semesters, but $14,247 for part-time for 3 semesters (and it goes up from there).  Those are just the costs for the courses you have to take there - it doesn't include the 90cr that you have to bring in, or finish.

I always say that once you get your evaluations, it is better to see what it will cost in time and money to COMPLETE your degree.  You should look forward at what it will take to finish, not backwards at what your prior credits came in as.
