I decided to play it safe and take one test at a time. (My bosses will just have to be inconvenienced; good practice for when I get my degree and quit!) I'm well into the studying now and am feeling close to ready for Western Civ I.
I'm using mainly the InstantCert cards and the REA book. I've found REA books to be the best ones for me so far and right on target with the material, but this is my first time using IC. It's unsettling to me that the IC cards go into much more detail but are much lighter on context than REA. Based on my experience with CLEPs thus far, that's the wrong approach. I'm thinking IC is a good supplement to Western Civ study (and it's a really handy, sneaky way to study when I have downtime at work), but it would be a mistake to rely on IC alone.
