I've become interested in Patten again. However, I feel like it would be hard to get a good GPA there. I don't mind that exams don't align well. If Patten were pass/fail, I think I would go for it. But if most courses are unfair and impossible to get an A in, then I would have a lower GPA that stays with me forever. Most employers don't care though, so I wonder if I should try it. Even if the grading makes it impossible to get over a 3.3, I don't think that most doctoral programs would care as long as someone was 3.0 and up.
