I've had it crash my browser (Chrome) a few times too. Usually once I get to the course module page it's fine, but the Dashboard is from the pit of hell.
Last time I took a proctored final exam, the entire website crashed and I had to restart my browser (and my proctored session) in order to get it to work again. Luckily the proctor didn't have an issue with it but I was pretty ticked.
Is it doing this for anyone else?
Yes, it sucks. I had issues as well. I initially used Firefox and had issues with the popups loading. I then switched to Microsoft Edge and still had random issues. Finally, I switched to Internet Explorer and all worked fine.
I know the following may be misplaced but I would like to share my experience with Straighterline.
I completed English Comp II through Straighterline and it was incredibly long. I had to complete a total of about 25 combined quizzes and essays. In hind-sight, I should have chosen a different exam to test out of that was shorter since I had already taken two composition courses at my local community college. Unfortunately, I was only awarded four credits total by Excelsior for those so I still needed the two additional credits to meet the Written English requirement.
In my opinion, a better option would have been to use Davar Academy's equivalent course which only requires five essays.
Also, I didn't cancel my subscription with Straighterline on time so I was charged another month. Unfortunately, all I need to complete my degree are upper level courses so I'm out a hundred bucks with Straighterline. I will say however, that their customer reps are polite but are unable to provide much in terms of refunds. Just an fyi to keep others from having a similar experience.
A couple of positive notes about Straighterline is that all the study material was provided as part of the course cost and the grading of the quizzes was instantaneous. The essays were normally graded within a day or so.
