For several classes that I've taken at SL, they break down like this:
Quiz 1: 125
Quiz 2: 125
Midterm: 250
Quiz 3: 125
Quiz 4: 125
Final: 250
You need 70% to pass, so out of the 1000 points, you need 700 minimum. As you can see, it's theoretically possible to get 750 before even requesting the proctored final, but you must take the final (you could just click through it).
Soc101 is a different animal than that scoring system, but your tests should show how many points are possible and how many you got. The course is still based on 1000 points and you need 700 to pass.
