You get all of the prompts and coursework upfront. But in my case I did all of the work ahead of schedule, but the Professor/Mentor didn't grade anything until the actual due date, so it took a while to get my grades.
The final was proctored, but was also open book. It wasn't long essays you were writing for the final, just a couple paragraphs. The prompts were situations such as "A psychologist is seeing a patient and x happens. What would be an appropriate way to approach this situation, and what concepts of ethics does this relate to"
It's been a while, so it wasn't exactly that, but you get the idea I think.
