You don't have to take anything at TESU, except possibly the cornerstone ($300) if you don't transfer in enough credits. I personally would not get just an AA at TESU, it's too expensive with the $2000 residency waiver fee. Maybe if you were going to go on for the BA, but even then, it's iffy unless you were really really close to getting the BA.
Instead, look at COSC, they don't have a capstone for their AA's (I don't think) and it's a cheaper way to go for the AA.
I think EC might be cheaper as well if you get POAG.org pricing (join as an associate for $25/year). But it looks like their AA's require a capstone.
For an AA at TESU, it's about $2698 for fees, and then the pricing for your courses (60cr worth, which amounts to the same price as it would for COSC). For an AA at COSC, it's about $1738 for fees. These prices include the cornerstone course, graduation fees, and other misc fees.
