I somewhat disagree.

A few stores are cash only.
RA credits are visa
AP credits are mastercard
CLEP is amex.
DSST is discover
Other ACE credits are store brand credit cards

ACE is all forms of credit cards.

Your analogy isn't bad, but it doesn't clarify why someone would say clep or dsst aren't ace approved. A 5 second ACE search proves otherwise.
