When paying several hundred dollars for a course, I'm more concerned about quality than easiness because I want to learn something. I was disappointed with some easy classes I've taken because I learned nothing. Even easy courses require some time and effort, and I don't want to waste any time or effort on something that's not going to teach me anything. In the first year of my PhD program, I made the mistake of taking statistics and regression with the easy professor. This meant that I had to take extra time later on to learn more about statistics in order to do well in future courses and the comprehensive exam. I tend to ask and listen to other students in my program about the quality of a professor's teaching because websites like Ratemyprofessor.com have selection bias. Those who have a grievance are more likely to write a review.

There is also the problem of many instructors not having any reviews, and they may be the only instructors teaching a course you need for that semester. I have no reviews on Ratemyprofessor.com.
