I have no interest in doing research that tries to further some kind of partisan political agenda.

maybe I should have used the terms 'liberal' and 'conservative'. Both spend tons on research.

As far as state jobs that won't accept a CJ degree, different positions require different degrees.

This hasn't been my experience.

Substitution of Education for Experience: Additional graduate coursework in [whatever the job is] or other related acceptable fields may be substituted for the required experience, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of one year.



Typical Federal job:

One full year of graduate level education in social sciences, business or public administration, behavioral sciences, and sociology. Course work in fields other than those specified may be accepted if it clearly provides applicants with the background of knowledge and skills necessary for successful job performance in the position to be filled. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full- time study.

Texas must be picky!
