That article is two years old. OMSCS has been discussed here a few times and is doing really well having graduated it first group this last December:

I've applied and should hear whether I've been accepted for Fall soon. What decided it for me is the thriving community on Google+. There I've been able to interact with a lot of current students and get a good idea of exactly what the program is like. In a word it seems awesome.
