I don't know what I don't know.
Having said that, I guess there appears to be two schools of thought (yeah, that's intentional) on the subject.
IF you just need that paper, for whatever reason, having excessive credits appears a little unnecessary, and consuming.
On the other hand, if you like to know things, then, assuming you kept track over the years, having a few hundred credit hours doesn't seem unreasonable.
I had no clue any of the courses I was taking could be applicable to a college degree. I didn't even really need them for work. I just foresaw a few events, and realized there was a personal knowledge gap. Eventually, I morphed into what my culture calls a 'certificate whore' - I will take a class on ice making or recognizing my own name if they will certify me... lol
Back then, it was kind of ridiculous. Now, in the work force, they don't really seem to care many times if you know something, can you *prove* by a piece of paper that you know it?
So, I don't know how many credits I actually have. I am hoping it's a bunch. I plan on taking some more classes, even if I have enough, because, there's still certs out there...er, things to learn!!
